Ordered cable while reading WIRED magazine, listening to music, surfing the web and never talked to a person except via online chat…
Jumped over and added the appointment to Google Calendar, while checking Google Mail, and perusing my Google Reader.
Transfered to my blog to tell everyone about it.
I love the internet!
Now, I’m leaving work to meet the technician who will be providing me with this wonderful internet connection at home.
BumpTop Desktop
This technology totally needs to be combined with the Microsoft Surface and I would have myself a new desk, and PC!
However, there is definitely an issue with the stylus approach.
I’ve never been a pen / stylus fan as they have always proved to be more trouble than they are worth. However, I personally have definitely been thinking about the new age of desktop computing. This old 2D display regime is outdated, and frankly, not what I want anymore.
When I laid eyes on the new Microsoft Surface I immediately began thinking about having a new work environment. I would be able to ditch my desk, computer tower, and monitors in favor of the Microsoft Surface. My entire tabletop would be my computer. I would love this! I’m sure many others share the same sentiment; however, those others are most likely in my same water, devoid of the $10,000 needed.
Technology prices always fall in time, so we will see what the future holds.
I hope my future is holding a “computer-less” environment where my entire work surface is my “desktop.”
I have no idea how many people actually read this blog.
I recently installed Google AdWords to track it a little better. Data takes time to compile though.
For all of those who are reading, or even have subscribed to my RSS feed, I will let you know the reason I have not posted anything in a few days is I’m working on a large number of articles.
They are as follows ( in no order what-so-ever ):
I hope these sound interesting. Most of them are original content to be written by me. Unfortunately I have a Gmail Label titled “Ideas” sporting over 140 unread messages awaiting my further inspection. The above articles are very similar. They are all things I want to write or think about, but everything takes time.
The above articles are my top blogging priority, so you should be inundated with content soon!
Thanks For Reading, and Please keep doing so!
That’s the way it began.
That’s the way it ended.
Working for an organization where you are unable to discuss “how your day was” became, and remained, my dream.
I worked hard, studied, practiced, trained. I spoke four different languages.
I could run a 5 1/2 minute mile, fire 1,000 rounds with unerring accuracy, hold my breath for 3 minutes, and solve a rubix cube while under live fire.
The perfect agent.
The CIA does not hire people. They take them; absorb them into a community where secrets are currency and conversations hold the tension of walking a tightrope. I loved it.
Four years working for the Agency.
Four years of zero mistakes.
One mistake later, and there are no more years.
The media constantly choked the air with conspiracy theories, lies, hidden documents, secrets, and corruption in the government. None of them could have been true. Reporters lie to get headlines and directors must sell movies. Never in my wildest dreams could I have conceived such horrible rumors could prove valid, and worse, that the stories were fairy tales compared to the truth.
One door, one sight, one mistake later and not only am I fired, I’m going to be dead soon.
This is probably one of the funniest articles I’ve read this year.
The author of this article has certainly been forced to deal with some difficult customers. Unfortunately, because much of what we “computer people” do is magic and mystery to others, it has the appearance of being easy. Watching a professional welder lay down a perfect bead looks simple, but my efforts never seem to mirror theirs.
This article presents the demands on the architect as being completely laughable and absurd; however, all to often such demands ring true for web designers. I have been incredibly fortunate thus far in dealing with understanding clients who appreciate my labor of love and have made, primarily, reasonable requests.
So, go read on and enjoy, I know I did.
http://biznik.com/ published the article If Architects Had To Work Like Web Designers.
I originally set up this WordPress blog on my hosting, because of my Quotes Page.
That page actually started on my RoosterTeeth – Red vs Blue account, Glaxton, as a journal originally posted 2/22/06.
However, RvB journals have a character limit which I quickly exceeded.
Now it’s here on my blog and I update it nearly every day.
I figured I would create a new entry, pimping the old, for any new readers I’ve acquired recently.
So check out my Quotes Page, and re-visit frequently for new ones!
Thank you for reading!

Business Week author Patrick Burgoyne just published the article São Paulo: The City That Said No To Advertising
This goes right in line with my newly added Category, Minimalism.
I for one am excited about the fact that they took down the advertisements. I abhor billboards along highways and other forms of in-your-face advertising.
To quote the article, “The removal of the posters has ‘revealed an architecture that we must learn to be proud of, instead of hiding’.” Which is awesome. Could you imagine America banning advertising? Picture your local area devoid of all things outdoor advertising. Pretty different, right?
Well, I for one will be watching Brazil with piqued interest.
Keep up the Minimalism!

I shared the article about the Paperless Life and now I’ve got another article dealing with “stuff.”
This article is titled: Why You Should Stop Paying For Storage And Just Get Organized
I am a huge proponent of minimalism. I will have to post some pictures of my workspaces and home to get the idea across. I hate “stuff”.
Many people I know suffer from the disease of “hoarding” the above article talked about. Also, too many suffer from what I’ve coined “tabletop syndrome.” This is a sickness that forces its victim to compulsively put “nick-nacks” on top of any open surface, or tabletop.
I think I am going to create a new category specifically dealing with “table-top syndrome,” “hoarding,” and “stuff” for all those interested in articles dealing with this. I am an organizational freak and I hate paper. If others are interested in the topic I will try to facilitate the sharing of knowledge on it.

Edit: the new category is titled Minimalism.
I’m not a big fan of TV period. I do not watch Cable or Satelite as I cannot stand all of the commercials. These days, I watch television shows on DVD’s commercial free and re-watchable at my leisure. However, with the launch of Joost and other free services, I might actually start watching the boob tube again, but on my computer instead. Some alternatives are written about in the article below:
